A method of treating decrepitude in elderly patients, in particular aged 60 years or older, comprising the simultaneous parenteral administration of an effective dose of a combination of anabolic steroid and vitamin D.2. The method according to claim 1, where the introduction is carried out at least once a month and preferably once a week. The method according to claim 1 or 2, where the introduction is carried out over a period of time of at least 3 months, preferably 6 months. The method according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the anabolic steroid is selected from the group consisting of norboletone, oxymetholone, oxandrolone, nandrolone and their esters, and is preferably nandrolone decanoate. The method according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the vitamin D is selected from the group consisting of ergocalciferol, cholecalciferol, calcidiol, calcitriol, doxercalciferol and calcipotriene. The method of claim 1 or 2, wherein the administration is by parenteral injection of a single formulation containing both an anabolic steroid and vitamin D, preferably a combination of nandrolone decanoate and cholecalciferol. The method according to claim 6, where a single formulation contains from 5 to 600 mg of nandrolone decanoate and from 17.5 μg to 15 mg of cholecalciferol. The method according to claim 1 or 2 for use as restorative adjuvant therapy for decrepit elderly patients, in particular after hospitalization or surgery.
