This invention provides an improved protocol in testing the efficacy of formulated larval starter and juvenile feed administered to sea cucumber hatcheries. The protocol includes the preparation of the formulation through drying, pulverizing, and mixing Sargassum into other additives prior to administration to the sea cucumber aquaculture. The density of swimming larvae and the number of settled larvae serve as parameters in determining the efficacy of the formulation as a larval settlement inducer. Juvenile sea cucumber population and sea cucumber length are the determinants of juvenile survival and growth, respectively.
