An intelligent negative pressure wound therapy system includes a foam-type wound dressing, a negative-pressure controller for specifying a supply pressure value and controlling an output pressure supplied to the foam-type wound dressing to create negative-pressure environment； and a pressure sensor electrically coupled to the negative-pressure controller for detecting pressure changes within the negative-pressure environment. If the pressure within the negative-pressure environment exceeds the supply pressure value, the pressure sensor sends a signal to the negative-pres sure controller for adjustment of the output pressure supplied. Thereby the pressure within the negative environment maintains at a value under the supply pressure value.
