PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which improves mounting easiness of a urine-taking pad to a disposable diaper.SOLUTION: An absorbent article 10 can be used by inserting a separate urine-taking pad 100 inside and comprises a surface sheet 1, a rear surface sheet 2, and an absorber 3 sandwiched between these sheets. The absorber 3 has an opening 33 on a skin contact surface side and a step part 34 between the inside and outside of the opening part. In at least one of longitudinal front and back end parts of the opening 33, the step part 34 has two or more peaks T in a plane view.
