The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an absorbent article (1) which comprises: absorbent bodies (7) which have a first surface (FF) and a second surface (FS) on the side opposite of the first surface and which comprise a fiber laminate body (7f) and a top sheet (3) which when worn contacts the wearer s skin. This method involves: a cutting step for making incisions (9) in the first surface of an absorbent body or in a surface which belonging to a semifinished product (7w) that will form the absorbent bodies when individually cut will form the first surface of the absorbent bodies and an adhesion step for adhering the cut absorbent bodies to the top sheet. In the adhesion step the absorbent bodies are adhered to the top sheet while the facing edges (9eu 9ed) of the cuts of the absorbent bodies are separated away from one another.
