PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material for controlling release of an action substance by an external stimulus and to provide a method therefor.SOLUTION: The material for controlling release of an action substance comprises at least one kind of a hollow body that has an opening part and a space to which an action substance is packed and is selected from titanium oxide, titanium hydroxide and a titanate and a gold-containing fine particle to be bonded to the hollow body so as to seal the opening part.
