PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an auxiliary image on an appropriate position.SOLUTION: A medical image processing apparatus includes a storage part, a display part, a display control part, a position specification part and a determination part. The storage part stores a medical image. The display part displays the medical image. The display control part performs control for displaying the medical image on the display part. The position specification part specifies the position on the display part designated by an operator. The determination part determines a display position on which an auxiliary image for assisting browsing of the medical image is displayed on the basis of the result of image analysis of the medical image based on the position specified by the position specification part.
