PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of synthesizing a novel substituted tetracycline compound； and to provide the compound.SOLUTION: A 7- and/or 9-substituted tetracycline compound is prepared by: bringing a reactive tetracycline-based precursor compound selected from a tetracycline diazonium salt and a halogenated derivative of tetracycline, into contact with a reactive organic substituent, e.g., alkenes comprising π bond, substituted alkenes, vinyl monomers, aromatics and heteroaromatic compounds, in the presence of a transition metal catalyst, such as palladium chloride and copper chloride； and reacting them with each other.【課題】新規置換テトラサイクリン化合物の合成法と該化合物の提供。【解決手段】テトラサイクリンジアゾニウム塩及びテトラサイクリンのハロゲン化誘導体から選択される反応性テトラサイクリンベース前駆化合物を、パラジウム触媒及び銅触媒から選択される遷移金属触媒の存在下で、π結合を含むアルケン類、置換アルケン類、ビニルモノマー類、芳香族及びヘテロ芳香族化合物などの反応性有機置換基に接触、反応させ、７位及び／又は９位置換テトラサイクリン化合物を調製する。【選択図】なし
