PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil roller for a seedling transplanter, affording favorable rolling effect without damaging seedling transplanted to make root forming better. SOLUTION: This soil roller for a seedling transplanter has a roll-like member 51 rolling on the planting surface on the top of a ridge, an arm 52 holding the roll-like member 51, a link rod 55 connected to the arm 52, an engagement plate 56 mounted on the link rod 55 and a cam member 57 with such a shape that a part thereof is excised and also a lift mechanism working in such a way that, when the engagement plate 56 is engaged on the cam member 57 in rotation, the roll-like member 51 mounted via the link rod 55 on the tip of the arm 52 rises, in contrast, when disengaged, the roll-like member 51 falls by its own weight, wherein the arm 52 is designed to be retractable and the roll-like member 51 is of hand-drum shape with the center narrower than both the ends.
