PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woven or knitted fabric which is excellent in a deodorizing effect on a sweat smell (ammonia, acetic acid and isovaleric acid) and is also excellent in a water absorption property, and which is suitable as a material for inner, sports and outdoor wears.SOLUTION: In a woven or knitted fabric including cation-dyeable synthetic fibers in a proportion of 80 g/mor more, a cationic quaternary ammonium salt and an ester derivative or amide derivative of a fatty acid having 8 to 20 carbon atoms inclusive are adhered to the fibers in a proportion of 0.5 to 5.0% owf inclusive based on the fiber weight. The woven or knitted fabric has a pH of 3.5 to 6.5 inclusive and a water absorbing rate of 10 seconds or less.
