PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sanitary material that has high liquid absorbing properties and liquid-retaining properties, and also has superior shape stability in a wet state.SOLUTION: The sanitary material contains a multi-layered nonwoven fabric having a plurality of nonwoven fabric layers. The multi-layered nonwoven fabric has one or more layers of a first layer which is a nonwoven fabric that contains 50 mass% or more of a cellulose-based fiber and has a fiber diameter of 0.1-8 μm, and one or more layers of a second layer which is a nonwoven fabric that contains 50 mass% or more of a cellulose-based fiber and has a fiber diameter of 10-20 μm. The second layer exists on at least one side surface of the multi-layered nonwoven fabric.
