The present invention relates to an antibody for detecting phosphorylation of MEL-18 and to uses of the antibody. The expression of the phosphorylation at a Thr334 position of a MEL-18 protein can be specifically detected by using the antibody which specifically recognizes a novel phosphate-epitope of the MEL-18 protein, so that AKT enzyme-dependent MEL-18 phosphorylation can be used to investigate an effect of intracellular signal transduction, cell proliferation, stem cell regulation, apoptosis and the like. The antibody of the present invention can also be useful for diagnosis, treatment and prevention of various diseases including cancer mediated by the MEL-18 protein.본 발명은 MEL-18 단백질의 인산화 여부를 검출할 수 있는 항체 및 상기 항체의 용도에 관한 것이다. MEL-18 단백질의 신규한 인산-에피토프를 특이적으로 인식하는 항체를 이용하여, MEL-18 단백질의 Thr334 위치의 인산화 발현을 특이적으로 검출할 수 있어, AKT 효소 의존적 MEL-18 인산화가 세포 내 신호전달 및 이를 통해 세포의 증식, 줄기세포 조절, 세포 사멸 등에 미치는 영향을 탐색할 수 있다. 또한, MEL-18 단백질에 의하여 매개되는 암을 포함한 각종 질병의 진단, 치료 및 예방에 유용하게 활용할 수 있다.
