Sprayable sunless tanning compositions comprising: a sunless tanning agent and a silicone polymer, where the silicone polymer comprises one or more water dispersible (water insoluble) polymer and one or more water soluble silicone polymers. The sunless tanning agent may be dihydroxyacteone, erythrulose, henna, or black walnut. Preferred water insoluble polymers are dimethicone and dimethiconol. A preferred water soluble silicone polymer is PEG-12 dimethicone. The tanning compositions may comprise a humectant, and may further comprise caramel, especially SC105 caramel and DSL4 caramel. A method for improving colour imparted to human skin from a sunless tanning composition comprises: providing one or more water dispersible polymers and one more water soluble silicone polymers in the tanning composition providing dihydroxyacetone or erythrulose in the tanning composition providing a nozzle through which the tanning composition can be sprayed and spraying the tanning composition on human skin.
