PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope in which operability of a bending operation of a bending section is secured, and operability of a state changing operation for changing an operation state of a functional section provided on a distal end portion of an insertion tube is secured.SOLUTION: An endoscope includes a knob outer peripheral part which is formed in a projected and recessed shape along a direction around a turning axis, in a bending operation knob, and which has a peak position of projections and recesses, the peak position being positioned a first knob diameter direction dimension away from the turning axis for a turning diameter direction, wherein the knob outer peripheral part has a first axial-direction dimension of 19.2 mm or less for the turning axis direction parallel to the turning axis.
