An eye/gaze tracker is associated with first and second light sources (121, 122; 125) each of which is configured to illuminate an eye (E) of a subject and controlled to selectively emit light (L1, L2; λ1, λ2) towards the eye (E) in such a manner that within an operation sequence (t0-t6) the eye (E) is illuminated by the first light source (121 ; 125-λ1) during at least one first interval (P1, P3; P5) and by the second light source (122; 125-λ2) during at least one second interval (P2, P4; P6). An image sensor has a plurality of photodiodes (PD) each of which is associated with first and second charge storages (A1, A2) configured to store electric charges based on an amount of light reaching the photodiode (PD). At least one switch (S1 , S2) of the image sensor is controlled such that the electric charges are stored in the first charge storage (A1) as a result of the illumination during the at least one first interval (P1, P3; P5) and in the second charge storage (A2) as a result of the illumination during the at least one second interval (P2, P4; P6).
