PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin-lightening agent which is easily mixed in external agents for the skin, and has a strong skin-lightening effect, and an external agent for the skin which contains the skin-lightening agent, is stable, has a good feel to the skin, and exhibits a strong skin-lightening effect.
SOLUTION: The skin-lightening agent includes an extract from the cones of Pinaceae densiflora as the effective component. The external agent for the skin includes the extract as the effective component. Preferably, the external agent for the skin additionally contains at least one kind selected from ascorbic acid or its derivatives and arbutins.
