A clothing treatment apparatus comprises a bag (10) an ozone supply apparatus (20) an insertion opening (11) and a fastening detection unit. The bag (10) accommodates an article of clothing the ozone supply apparatus (20) supplies ozone containing air into the bag (10) an insertion opening (11) is provided on the bag (10) and is opened and closed by means of a zipper (12) the fastening detection unit detects whether the insertion opening (11) has been fastened closed by the zipper (12). The fastening detection unit comprises a detectable member (90) a receptacle portion (417) and a fastening detection portion (470). The fastening detection portion (470) is disposed on the ozone supply apparatus (20) and detects the detectable member (90) received by the receptacle portion (417) when the zipper (12) is an open state the receptacle portion (417) has not received said member (90) and when the zipper (12) is in a closed state the receptacle portion (417) has received said member (90). The clothing treatment apparatus is prevented from operating when the insertion opening (11) on the bag (10) has not been fastened closed by the zipper.
