PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a pant-type wear article which successfully forms a fusion part in a side seal part without generating a defect such as a wrinkle or fold in the fusion part of the side seal part.SOLUTION: In a fusion process for forming a side seal part S of a pant-type wear article 1, one face 11a of an outer package material 11 contacts a holding tool 78 to be held in a front/rear positions along a conveyance direction D1 with respect to a formation planned part S1 of a fusion part S formed in the outer package material 11 in a continuous body 100 of the pant-type wear article, and the outer package material 11 is held/pressed under heating with an anvil block 750 arranged on the one face 11a of the outer package material 11 and a seal block 710 arranged on the other face 11b in the formation planned part S1. A holding face 80a of the holding tool 78 protrudes with respect to an anvil face of the anvil block 750.
