PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of achieving bacteria reduction effect even on wrapped food products.SOLUTION: A refrigerator includes a storage compartment for storing cooled objects, cooling means for cooling the inside of the storage compartment, and a control device 7 for controlling the cooling means and implementing a first process and a second process. The first process is a process for freezing the cooled object stored in the storage compartment by controlling the cooling means by the control device 7 so that a temperature in the storage compartment reaches a temperature lower than a freezing point of the cooled object, and the second process is a process started after the termination of the first process, for melting the cooled object stored in the storage compartment by controlling the cooling means by the cooling device 7 so that the temperature in the storage compartment reaches a temperature higher than the freezing point of the cooled object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
