FIELD: electricity.SUBSTANCE: an electrode for electrostimulation of the optic nerve and optic tracts and control of the physiological parameters of the orbital structures includes a polymer base and is made to be positioned along the orbital floor from the orbital frontal edge to the orbital roof. There are contacts for the transmission of electrical stimulating signals to the eyeball, optic nerve, optic tracts and/or for removal of physiological parameters in the base. The contacts are connected to the control unit of a power generator and combined into two groups. One group is located closer to the distal end of the polymer base and configured to preferentially affect the optic nerve and optic tracts. Another group is located closer to the proximal end and is designed to preferentially affect the posterior pole of the eyeball. The polymer base width decreases from the proximal to the distal end. The thickness of the polymer base is the same or variable or at the same time decreasing from the distal to the proximal end. The method of constant electrostimulation of the optic nerve and optic tracts and control of the physiological parameters of the eye orbital structures involves performing transconjunctival or subciliary access to the orbital floor edge. Then they spread the tissues to the orbit frontal edge by blunt or sharp dissection, incise the periosteum, exfoliate the periosteum deep into the orbit along the entire width of the orbital floor in the projection of the optic nerve. The developed electrode is placed along the orbital floor from the orbit frontal edge to orbital roof. The electrode is fixed to the periosteum and/or bone and the wound edges are repaired.
