One aspect of the invention provides a sheath including: a cylinder defining a central passage a balloon located along an external surface of a distal end of the cylinder, the balloon lying substantially flush with or recessed from the external surface when deflated, but capable of projecting beyond the external surface when inflated and an inflation port located at a proximal end of the cylinder, the inflation port in fluid communication with the balloon. Another aspect of the invention provides a kit including: a sheath as described herein and instructions for use.Un aspect de linvention concerne une gaine comprenant : un cylindre définissant un passage central un ballonnet situé le long dune surface externe dune extrémité distale du cylindre, le ballonnet étant sensiblement en affleurement avec la surface externe ou en retrait par rapport à celle-ci lorsquil est dégonflé, mais peut se projeter au-delà de la surface externe lorsquil est gonflé et un orifice de gonflage situé à une extrémité proximale du cylindre, lorifice de gonflage étant en communication fluidique avec le ballonnet. Un autre aspect de linvention concerne un kit comprenant : une gaine telle que décrite dans la description et un mode demploi.
