PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a complex vaccine that prevents meningococcal diseases caused by neisseria meningitidis that is a pathogenic bacterium in a wide range.SOLUTION: The vaccine is composed of four different polysaccharide-protein complexes formulated as single dose vaccines. The polysaccharide-protein complexes that can induce enduring immunization against various neisseria meningitidis strains in children and adults by chemically activating purified capsular polysaccharides derived from Neisseria meningitidis serogroup A, Neisseria meningitidis serogroup C, Neisseria meningitidis serogroup W-135, and Neisseria meningitidis serogroup Y and further causing the purified capsular polysaccharides to selectively bind to a carrier protein through a covalent chemical bond.【課題】病原菌である髄膜炎菌によって生じる髄膜炎菌性疾患に対して広範囲の防御をもたらす複合ワクチンを提供する。【解決手段】本ワクチンは、単回投与ワクチンとして処方された４つの別個の多糖－タンパク質複合体から成る。髄膜炎菌血清群Ａ、Ｃ、Ｗ－１３５、およびＹ由来の精製莢膜多糖を化学的に活性化させ、さらに共有化学結合によって担体タンパク質に選択的に結合させて、子供ならびに大人において様々な髄膜炎菌株に対して永続的な免疫を誘導できる多糖－タンパク質複合体を形成する。【選択図】なし
