A liquid formulation comprising a solution of: (a) at least one stable elsamitrucin salt, and (b) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein said liquid formulation does not contain an antioxidant, and wherein said liquid formulation maintains a potency of greater than 90% for a period of longer than 2.5 years at 25 Deg. C. Further the said formulation does not contain a buffer to maintain a solution pH, but it may optionally contain mannitol as an osmotic pressure adjusting agent.
