The present invention relates to a functional salt comprising sericite, red ginseng, and bay salt as active ingredients, and to a method for producing the same. The functional salt according to the present invention is produced through a process comprising the steps of: (a) mixing, in a weight ratio of 90 : 5 : 5 to 80 : 10 : 10, sericite, red ginseng, and bay salt, respectively (b) adding the mixture of step (a) into a jar (c) putting the jar filled with the mixture into a kiln, mixing pulverized sericite and yellow clay in a ratio of 3 to 4 : 6 to 7, kneading the mixture with water, producing dough, and closing the entrance of the kiln with the dough (d) when the entrance of the kiln is closed, adding fire to the fuel mouth of the kiln, and baking the mixture at a temperature of 900 to 1200°C and (e) when the baking is completed, extracting and pulverizing baked salt from the jar after cooling. The functional salt comprising sericite, red ginseng, and bay salt and produced through the method of the present invention, compared to conventional general salt, has functionality beneficial to a human body due to the addition of red ginseng. The present invention has effects of containing minerals, discharging toxicity, and emitting far-infrared rays due to the addition of sericite.
