PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire whose end part is excellent in flexibility and excellent in torque transmission property.SOLUTION: A guide wire 1 includes: a wire body 10 which is long and flexible and a coil 5 which is provided in the way that it covers at least an outer periphery of an end part of the wire body 10. The wire body 10 has a plate part 26 at the end part. The plate part 26 has a plurality of plate bodies 3 which are arranged along a longitudinal direction of the wire body 10 and joined in succession. Two adjacent plate bodies 3 are joined so that they can rotate around mutual joint parts 30.
