The eye examining apparatus includes: a chart optical system (10) which includes an illumination light source (12) emitting illumination light and a chart (14) transmitting the illumination light for generating a chart image to which the line of sight of a target eye (5) is fixed, and which projects the chart image into the eye； a color observation optical system (40) which includes one or more visible light sources (42) emitting visible light to the target eye (5) and a detection element (44) detecting the image of the target eye emitted with the visible light, and which obtains a visible light image of the target eye； and a reflection and separation filter (50) which partly reflects and passes the chart image of the chart optical system (10) and the image of the target eye of the color observation optical system (40), and has a visible light transmittance of 0.3 to 0.95.
