PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a potent new topical pharmaceutical composition for treating ophthalmic infections associated with P. aeruginosa.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a topical pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing ophthalmic infections associated with P. aeruginosa containing an antimicrobial effective amount of moxifloxacin or their pharmaceutically effective hydrates and salts, and a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle therefor. The composition can be administered to affected tissue or the like after a surgical procedure or the other external injury, or during the surgical procedure to the eye tissue of a patient to prevent or alleviate post-surgical infection.
