PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for fixing a bone. An apparatus for bone fixation includes an orthopedic implant. The orthopedic implant can be manufactured from a shape memory material, which allows the orthopedic implant to move between its natural and inserted shapes. The orthopedic implant defines at least a first cannulation portion 8 therethrough adapted to deliver bone augmentation material to bone. The orthopedic implant is implanted within the bone in its inserted configuration. After implantation of the orthopedic implant, the first cannula facilitates delivery of bone augmenting bone augmentation material to the bone. Once implanted, the orthopedic implant attempts to transition from its inserted shape to its natural shape, which causes the orthopedic implant to fixate the bone.
