PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for performing excellent imaging in an acoustic wave reception device which performs photoacoustic imaging and ultrasonic echo imaging.SOLUTION: An acoustic wave reception device comprises: a light irradiation unit which irradiates a target region with light a reception array made by arranging a plurality of reception elements which receive photoacoustic wave caused by the light irradiation to output a photoacoustic signal a transmission/reception array made by arranging a plurality of transceiver elements which transmit a supersonic wave to the target region and receive echo of the supersonic wave reflected by the target region to output an ultrasonic signal and an array support part including a support area in which a reception array is supported so that oriented axes of a plurality of reception elements go toward an effective reception area and the transmission/reception array.
