PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for performing excellent imaging in an acoustic wave reception device which performs photoacoustic imaging and ultrasonic echo imaging.SOLUTION: An acoustic wave reception device comprises: a light irradiation unit which irradiates a target region with light a reception array made by arranging a plurality of reception elements which receive a photoacoustic wave caused by the light irradiation to output a photoacoustic signal a transmission/reception array including a plurality of transceiver elements which transmit a supersonic wave to the target region and receive an echo wave of the supersonic wave reflected by the target region to output an ultrasonic signal an array support part including a first part which supports the reception array to form an effective reception area where oriented axes of the reception array are gathered and a second part which supports the transmission/reception array and a scan unit which integrally scans the reception array and the transmission/reception array with respect to the target area by moving the array support part.
