To this end, the present invention sets a plurality of frequency bands within a prescribed frequency range, irradiates an imaging subject by transmitting a high-frequency pulsed magnetic field in one of the plurality of frequency bands from a transmission unit, receives an NMR signal produced by the imaging subject via a receiving unit, repeatedly performs an operation for producing an image from the NMR signal using an image generation unit while changing the frequency band, obtains a plurality of images that respectively correspond to each of the plurality of frequency bands, and thereafter, synthesizes the plurality of images. When doing so, the present invention sets the plurality of frequency bands in a manner such that there is a partial overlap between adjacent frequency bands.
