PURPOSE: An antibacterial flavaspidic acid compound and an antibacterial composition containing thereof are provided to secure the antibacterial effect for methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial flavaspidic acid compound is marked with chemical formula 1. In the chemical formula 1, R is either a methyl group or an ethyl group. The flavaspidic acid compound is separated from an ethanol extract of Crassirhizomae Rhizoma.
