The invention refers to an apparatus and a method which feed a web of wrapping material (WM) into an inlet (N.1) of a chamber. An object (B) in this chamber is to be wrapped with a wrapping material (WM). A wrapping material supplying unit supplies wrapping material (WM) such that an increasing loose end area (LEA) is formed). The sagging loose end area (LEA) comes in a position between the inlet (N.1) and a pusher plate (PI.PU) of a pushing unit (PU). The pusher plate (PI.PU) is moved in an engaging direction (ED) and hits laterally the loose end area (LEA). By the urged kinematic energy and the inertia a bulge (BU) is formed in the wrapping material (WM). The further movement of the pusher plate (PI.PU) urges the bulge (BU) into the inlet (N.1). Preferably a closing unit (CU) closes an area (Ar) below the inlet (N.1).
