PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porphyrin derivative with improved water-solubility used for diagnosis and treatment of diseases, and a manufacturing method thereof.SOLUTION: This invention provides a sugar-porphyrin derivative containing polymer provided by copolymerization of monomer containing porphyrin, monomer containing sugar or glycoside and monomer containing no porphyrin or sugar, or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt or their hydrate. This invention also provides a method of manufacturing polymer containing sugar-porphyrin by radical polymerization of the three kinds of monomer having radical reactivity groups.
