A scattering characteristics feature quantity calculating unit 74 calculates a scattering characteristics feature quantity W not including the blood vessel depth feature quantity but reflecting the scattering characteristics of the subject. A feature quantity correcting unit 76 corrects the blood vessel depth feature quantity Z by the scattering characteristics feature quantity W to obtain a corrected blood vessel depth feature quantity Za.
