This invention discloses a process for production of biofungicides, such as Trichoderma spp., using tamarind seeds as the growth medium for such production. This process has many advantages over the old/traditional process of utilizing sorghum/millet grains for mass production of Trichoderma spp. for field application, which have described herein. The process disclosed herein is completely novel and due to its fundamental nature, it is capable of being extended to other agriculturally/industrially important fungi like the entomopathogenic fungi, etc.
