An object is to provide compositions that are safe to humans and animals, can be continually taken on a regular basis, posses anti-fatigue action, and are efficient in preventing or treating fatigue-related illnesses or conditions. The present invention provides anti-fatigue agents that contain andrographolide, optionally in combination with alpha-lipoic acid, as active ingredients, and new oral compositions that contain andrographolide and alpha-lipoic acid. The present invention is useful in preventing or treating chronic fatigue syndrome, overwork, physical fatigue, mental fatigue, and organ fatigue.
