Aspects of the technology described herein include an ultrasonic device, comprising a first die comprising an ultrasonic transducer, a first application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) bonded to the first die and including a pulser, and an integrated digital receiving circuit. In some embodiments, the first ASIC can be bonded to the second ASIC, and the second ASIC can include an analog processing circuit and an analog-to-digital converter. In such embodiments, the second ASIC may include a through-silicon via (TSV) that facilitates communication between the first ASIC and the second ASIC. In some embodiments, the SERDES circuit facilitates communication between the first ASIC and the second ASIC, and the first ASIC includes an analog processing circuit and an analog-to-digital converter.
