To provide a guide-wire insertion assist device responding to a case where optionally installing and using a catheter and a guide wire having different outside diameters.
SOLUTION: The guide-wire insertion assist device 10 includes a catheter guide tube 11 and a guide-wire guide tube 12. The peripheral face of the catheter guide tube 11 is formed with a plurality of catheter guide grooves C circumferentially at certain intervals and projections 13 and projecting strips 14. The guide-wire guide tube 12 is constituted by connecting half-tube sections 12a and 12b together with hinges 12c, and its internal circumferential face is formed with a plurality of guide-wire guide grooves G and recesses 16 engaged with the projections 13 and grooves 17 engaged with the projecting strips 14. The catheter guide tube 11 and the guide-wire guide tube 12 are assembled, with the engagement position of a projection 13 and a recess 16 set at an optional position and so as to communicate an optional catheter guide groove C with an optional guide-wire guide groove G.
