Soil base for planting and cultivating various plants comprises a base. granulate of vulcanite and/or fired day with a water storing high swelling copolymer and water flow inhibiting mineral fibre. The mineral fibre is comminuted store wool and the copolymer is coloured the same colour as the vulcanite or clay. The base material consist of 90-95% vulcanite or clay and 1% copolymer and 4-9% fibre. The vulcanite is lava or pumice stone. ADVANTAGE - Retains moisture content for long time thereby eliminating need for rewatering after short intervals.
