Methods are provided for inhibiting tumor growth in a cancer patient with renal failure or treating the cancer patient. The method involves administering to the patient an effective amount of Lipoplatin. A second chemotherapeutic agent can be administered to the patient. The second chemotherapeutic agent can be administered before or after the Lipoplatin therapy or simultaneously with the Lipoplatin therapy.
