The present invention relates to a motorized wheelchair (10) comprising :- a frame (2), defining a longitudinal direction and a lateral direction perpendicular to said longitudinal direction,- a battery support assembly (6) for supporting at least one battery box (13), said battery support assembly (6) being connected to said frame (2),- first and second power drive assemblies (5a, 5b) disposed on each lateral side of the wheelchair (10), each assemblies (5a, 5b) comprising a motor (14a, 14b) and a gearbox assembly (15a, 15b),- first and second rear wheels (3a, 3b) respectively driven by said first and second power drive assemblies (5a, 5b),wherein said first and second power drive assemblies (5a, 5b) are directly fixed on the battery support assembly (6).
