Sprouts or an extract, obtained by mixing the extract of Xanthium canadense Mill. Sprouts with the fruit of Xanthium strumanium, fruit of Cornus officinalis, cinnamon peel, root of Cnidium officinale Makino, seed of pearl barley, and fruit of jujube, have high content of polyphenol and exhibit high activity of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) free radical removal, superoxide radical removal, hydroxyl radical removal, and ferric reducing/antioxidant power (FRAP) reduction.
