PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical device and a medical device assembly which make it possible, in therapy of emphysema using a deformable cover member, to perform an operation of putting the cover member onto a lug easily and speedily and which materialize a minimally invasive treatment of emphysema.SOLUTION: A medical device 100 includes a cover member 10 and a holding member 20. The cover member 10 includes: an accommodating section 11 which is provided so as to be able to accommodate either one of a right lung and a left lung of a living body and which is freely deformable according to inflation and deflation of a lung in a state in which the lung is accommodated therein and an opening 13 through which the lung is introduced into the accommodating section.
