The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating cancer including a Lindera thomsonii extract as an active ingredient, and a food composition for preventing or alleviating cancer. A composition including a Lindera thomsonii extract of the present invention does not exhibit toxicity to normal cells but show a cancer cell extinguishing effect by inducing apoptosis of cancer cells, so as to be usefully used as an anticancer composition. The composition can be used as a pharmaceutical composition or a food composition for preventing or treating cancer.본 발명은 린데라 톰소니(Lindera thomsonii) 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 암의 예방 또는 치료용 약학적 조성물 및 암의 예방 또는 개선용 식품 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 린데라 톰소니 추출물을 포함하는 조성물은 정상세포에 대해서는 독성을 나타내지 않으면서, 암세포의 아폽토시스를 유도하여 암세포 사멸 효과를 나타내므로 항암 조성물로 유용하게 사용될 수 있어, 암의 예방 또는 치료를 위한 약학적 조성물 또는 식품 조성물로 이용될 수 있다.
