PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improvement technique for forming a flow line utilizing an ultrasonic wave.SOLUTION: A Doppler processing part 30 obtains Doppler information in a living body on the basis of a reception signal of an ultrasonic wave. A velocity vector operation part 40 obtains distribution of the velocity vectors of the blood flow in the living body on the basis of the Doppler information in the living body. A flow line formation part 50 searches for a proper starting point by reversely tracking the blood flow in a reverse direction of the velocity vector from an initial starting point when forming the flow line indicating the blood flow on the basis of the distribution of the velocity vectors and forms the flow line extended from the proper starting point.【課題】超音波を利用して流線を形成するにあたっての改良技術を提供する。【解決手段】ドプラ処理部３０は、超音波の受信信号に基づいて生体内のドプラ情報を得る。速度ベクトル演算部４０は、生体内のドプラ情報に基づいて生体内における血流の速度ベクトルの分布を得る。流線形成部５０は、速度ベクトルの分布に基づいて血流の流れを示す流線を形成するにあたり、初期開始点から速度ベクトルの逆方向に血流の流れを逆追跡して適正開始点を探索し、適正開始点から伸長された流線を形成する。【選択図】図１
