PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underpants type absorbent article whose exterior body is soft and has good feel, including a peripheral edge part of a waist opening, and which prevents a hand from being put in a rear side of a folded part of a sheet material composing the exterior body when the article is put on.SOLUTION: An underpants type absorbent article 1 is provided with an absorbent body 3 including an absorber and an exterior body 2, and forms a pair of side seal parts 4 and 4, a waist opening, and a pair of leg openings. Exterior bodies 2A and 2B on an abdominal side part A or a back side part B are provided with: two sheets 22 and 23 bonded by many fusion parts 26 formed in a dotted manner； and elastic members 24 passing between the fusion parts 26 and 26.
