PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pharmaceutical compositions for treating one or more neurodegenerative diseases accompanied by demyelination.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a composition containing N-2 hydroxy-ethyl-piperazine-N'-2-ethane sulfonic acid (HEPES) and derivatives in the treatment of pain associated with cancers and side-effects including post-chemotherapy cognitive impairment disclosed herein, and to a therapeutic use of the composition.
