The device is designed to provide a uniform light intensity distribution in the tooth by use of a light mixing chamber of the mouthpiece included in the oral care device. The mouthpiece includes a sealing structure having a rim that is designed to connect to the gingiva of a user. At least part of the rim and the closure of the mouthpiece enclosed by the rim are reflective. When light is emitted into the mouthpiece, the light will be reflected by the reflective rim, the reflective closure and the buccal surface of the tooth. Therefore, the light will be reflected many times, which makes the intensity distribution more uniform.
