An x73-PHD system and an automatic firmware update method using the same thereof are disclosed. The x73-PHD system comprises an x73-PHD adaptor and an x73-PHD gateway. The x73-PHD gateway communicates with a physiology monitor via the x73-PHD adaptor. The method comprises following steps. A matching serial number corresponding to the physiology monitor is got. It is determined whether a current firmware of the x73-PHD adaptor needs to update according to the matching serial number to generate a response result. The current firmware is updated to the updating firmware corresponding to the matching serial number when the response result indicates that the current firmware needs to update.
